Jim Zant
It turns out he hurt himself when he fell his last day in rehab. He sustained additional injuries which triggered more pain, spiked high blood pressure to 230 and led to an inpatient hospitalization. Their medical evaluation and judgement, sending him home after he fell, were detrimental and troubling at best !
This is the most fabulous place available in the St. Louis area for rehab services. From the nurses to the therapy staff, the food service and the doctors you will not find better care. Chris Baechle, the CEO is approachable and hands-on. You can tell he truly cares about all aspects of the hospital's day to day operation. Jessica Cappa, the director of rehab runs a exceptional therapy team who are dedicated to getting you back on your feet. Beth Clamp, the chief clinical officer has developed a staff of top notch nurses who provide excellent care. The dietary staff serves your meal with a smile and the food is good and hot. If you're searching for a rehab hospital after illness or injury your search is over because you will never find a better place to receive healthcare.
The day we went to take him home, he fell in his rehab room. However, this happened before family arrived and no one there called to let us know. When we got there, and found out he fell (he told us) they still insisted he was ready to be discharged. His family asked how he was safe to go home? They still didn't deem continued treatment necessary even after he fell in his room!
I want to thank everyone for your professionalism, care and
compassion. I am glad my brother Tom was at you facility.
The techs were equally bad. I asked for soap in her room for 3 days before I finally got it. Dirty linens and towels, etc. I really felt they did not care one bit. My sister is about to enter rehab and I am sending her somewhere else. I would never send a loved one here.
My 86 year old mother came here after a fairly minor outpatient surgery. She left in much worse condition than when she arrived. The Physical Therapists were great....caring, took time and tailored their treatment.
Most of the nurses were awful. They were very uncaring. They spent very little time with her at each visit. They never returned my phone calls when I called to get a status update. I felt I had to be there daily to make sure she was getting some attention.
If you have a medical issue this is not the place to get quality medical care. We were disappointed in the medical services/supports needed but not provided. We were told my dad was "ready for discharge" His family communicated firmly it appeared he was not strong enough, in a lot of pain, unsteady in essential daily living and that his apt was not set up/safe to return to yet. They insisted he was safe to go eventhough a PT was not sent to see what he was going home to.
